About Our Sources

Sustainability

Ethi-Cali Vegan Apparel emphasizes sustainability and so we only work with suppliers who value the same while still providing the quality products you desire and deserve.

The fashion industry is a major contributor to environmental degradation by making up for 10% of global carbon emissions and allowing up to 85% of all textiles produced to end up in landfills all around the world. What makes that statistic worse is that one in five of every item produced reaches a landfill without even a single wear; brand new items that can clothe those who desperately need them or otherwise be recycled or put to some other use...trashed.

Ethi-Cali mitigates the issue of overproduction and textile waste by working with on-demand suppliers; only producing items we receive and process an order for. With high-grade print tech, our suppliers use less energy than industry standard printers and produce almost no wastewaters in the process.

Information about the production of the products

Items are made specifically for you once your order is placed. Every product in our catalog is made on-demand just like that. The intention is to avoid over production and unnecessary waste, as stated above.

Information about printing tech and materials

Our clothing is made using the DTG (direct-to-garment) printing method. DTG, as opposed to screen printing, provides a much higher image resolution. The inks used are water based, free of harmful chemicals and, of course, the most important aspect to us here at Ethi-Cali, are vegan. Our suppliers dispose of any leftover inks according to ink-supplier guidelines.

Packaging

The bags our apparel is delivered in are made of post-consumer recycled plastics. The share of recycled plastic per bag depends on the supplier facility it leaves, but it’s at least 50% for the outside (white or grey) packaging and at least 30% for the inside (clear) bags that are used in multi-item shipments.
