In Tarot, each card depicts an image of a symbol or a scene that is itself symbolic. The newest additions to our Plant Cult series is analogous to this. Each design was created in joyful collaboration with the amazing and talented Italian designer Novella Locritani to depict specific messages regarding animal rights and animal agriculture. This card, "The Fool", depicts the impact that consuming animal products has on the environment and all life on Earth. From C02 and methane emissions to deforestation, to mass species extinctions and ocean dead zones, to the contamination of waterways and air quality to the spawning of catastrophic epidemics, to global climate shifts resulting in exponential increases in the power and frequency of natural disasters the world over, animal agriculture is a major driver of all of it. Is it the only driver? No, but it is one that we, the people, have much more a chance of controlling; as even the least capable among us have the ability to NOT participate in even the most minimal of ways. That burger has a blood price and the fool is one who doesn't realize just how high that price really is.
